Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, India - April 5, 2024 - Maharaja Agrasen University (MAU) successfully conducted a workshop on "Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and IP Management for Startups" in collaboration with several prestigious institutions. The event attracted over 190 participants, primarily students from mentee institutions like University Institute of Technology (UIT) Himachal Pradesh University, Shahid Bhagat Singh State University (Punjab), Gulzar Group of Institutions (Punjab), Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus, and Global Institute of Technology (Jaipur).
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome extended to the esteemed resource persons, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Gupta, Chancellor's Nominee Shri Suresh Gupta, and representatives from the mentee institutions. Prof. (Dr.) A.N. Mahajan, Director & President IIC, MAIT, delivered the welcome address, followed by speeches from the Vice-Chancellor and Chancellor's Nominee.
The event featured insightful e-talks by two renowned experts:
Dr. Manjusha Agwan, Lead IP Attorney at SS Innovations - A Robotic Surgical Company (Gurugram, Haryana), shared her expertise on the practical aspects of IPRs in the startup ecosystem.
Mr. Ashish Kumar, IP Attorney at Global IPR Law Firm (Delhi, India), provided valuable guidance on managing intellectual property effectively for startups.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Er Himanshu Sharma, Vice President IIC, MAIT.
This collaborative initiative aimed to equip students with a strong foundation in intellectual property rights and their significance for startups. The engaging presentations and interactive sessions empowered participants to understand various types of IPRs, strategies for safeguarding their ideas, and the importance of IP management for achieving entrepreneurial success.
